The case is complicated and it is about my car insurance. I misinformed my insurance company about my NCD. As a result they cancelled my policy. The problem is that before they cancelled it I had a claim. My car was not damage at all but the other guy had a few scratches on the bumper and he reported the incident. My insurance company informed me; they would cancel the policy and return all the payments I made so far. They would cover the cost of the damage to another guy, but I have to repay all the cost they bear. In 2004, I saw a car that I wanted to buy at a Nissan car dealership and I took out a loan. At the time I didn't know anything about insurance. It was all greek to me. I was very young and had no one to help me out. Anyway, I went to American Family Insurance and the agent seemed very nice. I told him that I wanted to buy this car and before I could finalize everything I had to show proof that I had full coverage on the vehicle. He told me that I most definitely had to get full coverage and I signed the paperwork, gave him a check and my insurance coverage started. I NEVER CHANGED MY COVERAGE!! (Let me make that clear). So 1.5 years later my car slid on the ice and another lady thought she could speed to get around me and she instead hit me. The officer stated that none of us were at fault because I was sliding when I should have been in control of my car and she should have never tried to pass me so we would each be responsible for our own damage. Right away I called my agent and he later called me back and stated I didn't have collision coverage and I would have to pay out of pocket for my damage. Again, I didn't know anything about insurance and I had totally forgotten that collision was required so I believed this guy. I left it at that but was very upset with him because he stated that I didn't have collision coverage and I told him that as a professional insurance agent, he should have told me that I needed full coverage on this practically new car!!! So, 6 months later, it was still bothering me and I left him. The car wasn't drive-able (I had to pay $600 just to fix something with the wheel mount) and then it was drive-able but there are dents in the car and damage that equals $2,000 to fix. That may sound cheap to some of you but it isn't to me. Just 3 days ago, I was telling this story to someone and they told me that I should have had full coverage on the vehicle and I should look into this. I called American Family and a lady is doing some investigating because she could see I had insurance on my car in 2004 but didn't know what kind. But, she confirmed that my car was under a lien and the insurance agent would be required to put me on a full coverage in the state of Wisconsin. So, this lady stated she would call me back on Saturday. In a perfect world, she could state either 1). You had collision coverage at that time and your car will be fixed at our expense or 2.) Your agent never put you on full coverage. Come Saturday, what if she says that it turns out my agent never put me on full coverage? Isnt he at fault? Everyone (including their own company) states he should have known to put me on full coverage! So, can I try suing the company? Im thinking even though the lady was really nice and told me that my insurance agent should have known better that Ill hear something from them stating that their computer system shows that I was a client in 2004, but they dont know what type of coverage I was on. In the end, they will probably want to cover their butts. Please offer any suggestions! THANKS! And yes, I have become more knowledgeable about insurance for my sake. :)

No damage to my car. They pulled over. I gave him my name and phone number and told him to call me. I asked tesco if they could reinstate my policy due to some fault with the payment, which does not seem to be my bank they say that cancelled policy cannot be reinstated and suggest to pay 230 for the period that they were trying to collect and open a much more expensive new policy. They also told me that I face penalty because my car is uninsured now. I would like to reinstate the policy as cancelled unfairly and at the same time I need to insure my car quickly to avoid facing penalty. I wanted to maintain Tesco policy in case they reinstate it, as i will not have cancelled policy on my records and will not have to pay extra for the month, they have been cancelling my account, i also have 2 years no claim with them, provided another insurance, whose car slightly dammaged my front door, while i was parked at a petrol station, pays them. This insurance admitted that it was their fault, but have not finished paying Tesco. This is another reason, tesco could do me even cheaper insurance, once the responsible party pays in full. If i leave it as it is i am afraid that in additioon to cancelled policy I will have a not fully payed claim on my records.

Ok, I know you're just going to tell me that I need to have a car first or that I'm too young to have a motorcycle and I need experience and all that ****. But I'm 17 and I want a Honda Shadow Spirit 750 (which I've been told is a great starter bike) I am a safe and cautious driver, if I get one I'll have a helmet, gloves, pants, jacket, boots, etc. I'll take a class for it (which is required in the state of Fl), I've also already had driver's ed last year and I may take another one. I'm th exact opposite of the douche bag teenager on a crotch rocket with no gear weaving in and out through taffic going 90mph in a 45mph zone. In the state of Fl legally you don't need insurance for a motorcycle but I'll have it anyways. I was thinking of maybe putting down $2-3000 and getting a loan for the rest. My mom said that with a load I have to have full comprehensive coverage because I don't own the bike yet. Can you give me an estimate of how much the insurance would cost for a 17 year old male with driving classes and gear and a 3.8GPA, and I'm only going to school to home or to school to work then home (I don't get out much because I don't have many friends) and I have State-Farm. Im a 16 year old guy who will soon get his drivers license, but quite frankly im not too thrilled about being able to drive. I love driving and all, but i really enjoy riding a bike. I am looking to get health insurance for a year, more to take care of neglected issues than to cover my butt if I get sick/hurt (I'm 27, betting on youth and good health!). Kaiser seems to be the most appealing because they cover a broader range of services. I am namely interested in physical therapy (winged scapula), dermatology (oily skin/acne), perhaps mental illness services as I have suffered from depression (although I somewhat consider it a problem of my past). I'm aware insurance plans won't cover preexisting conditions, but how can they really prove these issues didn't start yesterday, right? I'm overwhelmed with my choices. Is it worth paying $330/mo for $0 deductible, 0% coinsurance, $40 co pays and a max out of pocket @ $3000? Or is it smarter to pay $166/mo, $2700 deductible, 0% coinsurance, $0 co pays after deductible, and max out of pocket @ $5000 (including deductible)? Etc. I have put off getting insurance because I'm scared I will pick a completely inappropriate plan. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
